Watching her watch, she thought: ' Remarkable how I always manage to get on time, though given the circumstances this wouldn't be possible. This only happens when it's something of importance'.
She got to the meeting place. She started to wait. The meeting hour passed with a few minutes. She took out her mobile and dailed the phone number...
'...our client can't be reached...'
She waited some more. She dailed the number again. Same result as at the first try.
Bit by bit the cold was getting to her bones. She lifted her eyesight to read the billboards so that she can check again if she was in the right place.
As she was trying to warm up, the gift that she was holding in her hands slightly sliped and fell. As the gift was falling, she realiesd what a perfect analogy the whole scene was for her all types of interpersonal relationships.
- she got on time = she was always there when they needed
- the calling = her nurtureing of the relationships
- the cold = their answer towards her needs
- checking of the place = her wonders if she was doing something wrong
Everything was in vain. It was like a yell in a crevice and the echo's reverberations were just mere hopes that in the end... just ended up being hopes.
The gift touched the ground. She gave up trying.
...still she lifted back the gift...and kept it, for that 'maybe someday'.
