Watching her watch, she thought: ' Remarkable how I always manage to get on time, though given the circumstances this wouldn't be possible. This only happens when it's something of importance'.

She got to the meeting place. She started to wait. The meeting hour passed with a few minutes. She took out her mobile and dailed the phone number...

'...our client can't be reached...'

She waited some more. She dailed the number again. Same result as at the first try.

Bit by bit the cold was getting to her bones. She lifted her eyesight to read the billboards so that she can check again if she was in the right place.

As she was trying to warm up, the gift that she was holding in her hands slightly sliped and fell. As the gift was falling, she realiesd what a perfect analogy the whole scene was for her all types of interpersonal relationships.

  • she got on time = she was always there when they needed
  • the calling = her nurtureing of the relationships
  • the cold = their answer towards her needs
  • checking of the place = her wonders if she was doing something wrong

Everything was in vain. It was like a yell in a crevice and the echo's reverberations were just mere hopes that in the end... just ended up being hopes.

The gift touched the ground. She gave up trying.

...still she lifted back the gift...and kept it, for that 'maybe someday'.

India and Latin America vs. change

I was just asking myself these days howcome if:

  1. Latin America is strongly catholic it is worldly known as a region where affection between lovers is publicly shown; and moreover...
  2. India is known as the birth place of the Kamasutra and as the place where the temples have statutes that represnt the sexual activity, why is that nowadays lovers get punished for the mere thing of holding hands on the street? See the incident that happened in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, when police beaten up young men and women for publicly displaying affection in a park.

I do have some opinions about the answer but first I would like to have some elegant proof before I state my opinion as I wouldn't like to sound crazy or hurt somebody.

In the meantime while I dig up my resources if you know the answer you are free to state your opinion.

Cathegory: read!

This one is to growth and faith.

An exquisite book. See the play if you can.

Amelie Nothomb has a remarcable way of expressing herself fluidly. If you are in for a good story, delicious humor and a lot of sarcasm just read it.

To the things unsaid that should have been said. This is what I've passed through reading this book.

I bought the book just because the writer, Anais Nin, used to be the lover of Henry Miller, my favorite author. As this volume is actually one of her diaries and she depicts some of her moments with Henry Miller I thought it could be a good opportunity to find more about Miller. Still I found the book highly interesting. I stronlgly reccomend it to be read.

About Hiragana

Things that I find interesting about this writing system:

  • Hiragana developed from Chinese characters (who were actually used to represnt Japanese sounds:)) used for their pronunciations, a practice which started in the 5th century.
  • hiragana first gained popularity among women, who were not allowed access to higher education; from this comes the alternative name of onnade "women's writing"; in early novels by female authors hiragana was extensively or exclusively used
  • Hiragana with its flowing style came to be used for unofficial writing such as personal letters while katakana and Chinese were used for official documents.

It's one of the 3 alphabets that Japanese use. They use all of them in ALL the sentences and phrases.

The Japanese alphabets are: Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Hiragana and Katakana are the shortest ones. Katakana has as many characters as Hiragana.

I'll come back with more details about the Japanese syllabary along with their learning.
